To type in Oroko on your computer, click on this link. It will give instructions on how to use and download a Cameroon keyboard that will allow you to type the Oroko characters.
To type in Oroko on an Android phone (version 5.0 or higher), download the app at this link. The app includes instructions, but here are the complete steps.
Once the program has downloaded, choose Install
Select Open
Read the info shown,
clicking NEXT on all info screens
You will be instructed to follow these 3 steps:
1) Authorize the
Cameroon Keyboard
- Click on Authorize the Cameroon Keyboard
- Slide the button next to Cameroon
Keyboard to the right to enable it
- Use your phone back arrow to return to Steps
1-3
2) Enable the
Cameroon Keyboard
- Click on Activate Keyboard- Select Cameroon Keyboard
3. Choose AZERTY
or QWERTY
- Choose QWERTY (unless you have a French
or irregular keypad)
Once you have completed these 3 steps, leave the application screen
open, and switch to the app
you want to use (e.g. WhatsApp or Facebook). Begin typing and
when you want to use a special character, press the white button just above the
shift arrow to see the special characters. Then select the letter you wish to
type.
To Switch between this keyboard and the regular English keyboard:
1) Tap in a text
area to make sure the keyboard is showing.
2) Swipe from the
top of the screen down to the bottom.
3) Choose the
button “Select Keyboard”
4) Choose the desired
keyboard
